BioA Letter to a Stranger
You said a pharase
over and over again.
In spring, I found you waiting next to the
Hard, brick terrace stairs, black arches of elevation
rising, meeting accomplishment nearing the eaves
of the roof. Fall came: you said, "could you find it in
your heart to forgive me?" The first leaves fell and you saw
my reaction. Bitter lip forced scowl.
In the leaves, in the night,
"Is it possible to reply?" In words and broken fragments to bring
me to center. In a safe place that I can
leave again, the silence. The tip of the leaves.
